  1. I-Cash & Check for Cash Event

    Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs is encouraging Columbia Area Residents to attend his I-Cash event. The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office connects people with their cash and other assets through the I-Cash program. Also, State of Illinois Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza invites you to attend this event to apply for the Check for Cash program. Every year, thousands of state checks payable to taxpayers go uncashed. This application will allow taxpayers to learn whether they are owned uncashed state checks worth more than $5 and were issued within the last ten years.

  2. TWIGS - Free Lunch Program for Children

    July 17, 2019, 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM @ Metter Park

    Children of all ages in Columbia will have free lunches available during the summer provided by TWIGS, a charitable non-profit organization in affiliation with Bethany Church, Columbia, IL. Lunches will be distributed May 29 through August 14 at Metter Memorial Park. Learn more about TWIGS and the summer lunch program at twigsforkids.org

  3. Clip Mobiles

    Clip Mobiles—Youth are challenged to use the engineering design process and mechanical engineering skills to plan and design a vehicle to maximize its ability to coast. Special consideration will be given to the effects of friction. Youth will also consider constraints of capacity, efficiency, complexity, and cost in the design. Recommended for ages 11-15 years.
