Responsibilities

The mission of the Columbia Fire Protection District is to protect the lives and property of the residents of our community which they serve. The dedicated 42 member department accomplishes this by continued training in fire suppression, HAZMAT, and rescue operations and providing community education in fire safety.

Fire Chief

The Fire Chief administers, plans, and directs all aspects of the fire department to include staffing, training, fire suppression, HAZMAT, and rescue operations. He is the Incident Commander at emergency incidents of all sizes and types and is responsible for managing and administering the yearly fire department budget, preparing fire activity reports, and evaluating fire station procedures to ensure efficiency and enforcement of departmental regulations. 

1st Assistant Chief

The 1st Assistant Chief is the training officer for the District

The 2nd Assistant Chief is responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs
