The City is currently accepting applications for "Tourism Marketing Grants". The purpose of this program is to promote tourism and conventions within the City of Columbia or otherwise attract nonresident overnight visitors to Columbia by providing funding assistance to events that bring people to our community. Therefore, projects that encourage overnight stays are preferred in accordance with State Statutes. The funding for this program is generated from a local tax applied to overnight stays at hotels in the City of Columbia.
If awarded, funding will cover expenses in Fiscal Year 2021/2022, which runs from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. Local non-profit organizations, hotels and venues are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted throughout the year, and funding is limited. Please refer to the Tourism Marketing Grant Program Application Packet for complete details.
